It was another exciting night in the First Division with Cork City extending the gap between themselves and Galway United at the top of the table to seven points.
At Eamon Deacy Park, John Caulfield's Galway United hosted an out of form Bray Wanderers. The Tribesmen needed a win to keep the pressure on promotion rivals Cork City, who they face in a couple of weeks.
They got off to the perfect start as they were awarded an early penalty kick but David Hurley's effort was well stopped by Stephen McGuinness low to his right.
Bray took the lead just a few moments later through Ben Feeney. Hudson's clever pass on the edge of the area sent the youngster through on goal and he forced the ball past the onrushing Kearns to open the scoring.
The Wicklow outfit doubled their lead courtesy of new signing Colin Kelly. The former Galway United man latched onto a through ball from Feeney to rattle the net for his first goal for the club.
The second half brought a number of chances for both sides but, despite a triple Galway change at the interval and another two with over 20 minutes to go, Bray held onto their two goal cushion until the third minute of injury time when Ronan Manning converted a penalty.
Pat Devlin's side held on to claim all three points. They've now picked up six points in their last five games which is one more than their hosts as their title challenge looks to be on rocky ground after this defeat and Cork City’s 2-1 win in Cobh.
Next week sees FAI Cup action with Galway United hosting UCD on Friday night while Bray Wanderers don't play again until September 2nd.
