As well as confirming Romanian referee Istvan Kovacs as the lead official for the Europa League Final in Dublin, UEFA set out on Monday their officiating teams for the men’s and women’s Champions League Finals, as well as the Europa Conference League Final.

Men’s Champions League Final

Slovenian Slavko Vinčić will be referee for the Wembley Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid on Saturday 1 June.

Vinčić was the referee in charge of the 2012 Champions League Second Qualifying Round second leg clash between Ekranas and Shamrock Rovers. The Lithuanian side knocked out the Stephen Kenny managed Hoops team by winning that second leg 2-1 after a scoreless first leg in Tallaght.

The 44-year-old, an international referee since 2010, will be officiating his second UEFA club competition final after his appointment as the referee for the 2021 UEFA Europa League final in Seville, Spain, between Eintracht Frankfurt and Rangers FC.

He officiated Saudi Arabia’s defeat of Argentina in the Lusail Stadium in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Women’s Champions League Final

Rebecca Welch will referee the 2024 UEFA Women’s Champions League final between Barcelona and Olympique Lyonnais set for San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao, Spain, on Saturday 25 May.

An international referee since 2015, the 40-year-old Englishwoman will take charge of her first UEFA Women’s Champions League final having been fourth official for last year’s final between Barcelona and VfL Wolfsburg in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

This season she has refereed six UEFA Women’s Champions League matches, including the quarter-final second leg between Paris Saint-Germain and BK Häcken FF.

Stuart Attwell will be the VAR official for this final.

Europa Conference League Final

Portuguese referee Artur Soares Dias will take charge in Athens of the UEFA Europa Conference League final between Olympiakos and Fiorentina. That match is set for the Greek capital on Wednesday 29 May.

He was the referee for France’s 1-0 win in Dublin in March 2023 in the EURO 2024 qualifiers.
