Referee:

- Gareth Penrose
- Fri, Jul 18 2008
Two goals in two minutes in the first half from Limerick 37 was enough for the Shannonsiders to take all three points from Monaghan United on Friday night in Kingspan Century Park.
Paul Walsh, one of the 16 players Limerick have signed since 1st July, got the opener on 30 minutes. Two minutes later, David Ryan clinched a second to secure the points. The win sees Limerick extend the gap over Longford and Monaghan to seven points, whilst still keeping in touch with the top four.
For Monaghan United, they have now earned 1 point from nine and conceded 6 goals without reply in the last three league games. Things will not get easier next week as they travel to Oriel Park to take on league leaders Dundalk.
