Luke joined the extratime.com team in 2022 and is the current host of the extratime.com podcast.

He’s been a follower of the league since 2007 after the FAI Soccer camps gave out free season tickets to the club of your choice and he’s been hooked since.

When he is not on the Camac Terrace in Richmond Park on a Friday night, he can also be seen reporting on games in the League of Ireland.

After the foreplay of pre-season, the Airtricity League season 2016 finally kicked off on Friday and with it came a few surprises, plenty of goals, and even more cards. This week’s Extratime.ie Sportscast features three managers who had varied experiences on the opening weekend. Wexford Youth’s Shane Keegan lead his team into their first Premier Division game but in front of almost 1,000 fans at Ferrycarrig Park, his side lost out by two goals to nil to Longford Town. He talks to Gareth O’Reilly and Josh Dolan about the game and his move to being a full time manager with the club. Last season on the Sportscast Ollie Horgan predicted his club wouldn’t be promoted. They subsequently were promoted. This year, after an opening day victory over local rivals Derry City, he remains consistent as he ponders whether his side will avoid the drop in their first season back in the top flight. Our final guest is Tommy Dunne fresh from one of the big surprises of the weekend – Galway United’s 3-1 win over St. Pats in Inchicore. He talks about the upcoming season and masterminding the win over the Saints. This interview was conducted by Extratime.ie reporter Aaron Clarke.
