DLR Waves v Wexford Youths Women's AFC
- Extratime Team
- Sun, Jan 12 2014
DLR Waves host Wexford Youths with two points separating the sides. A home win would see Waves overtake the Model County side so they will not lack for motivation at Jackson Park on Sunday.
For the home side, Niamh Connolly has a knee injury but Alison Bryan returns after a broken foot for a long time. DLR have lost Louise Kearney to Raheny and Lauren Bowles to Castlebar so will have to adjust.
"We should have won when we played them previously and I know they're stronger now than they were then. There's seldom much between the sides when we meet. We played a friendly and a small training camp but we got in a good break so we're in good shape," said coach Larry Mahony.
Wexford Youths welcome back Jenny Clifford and Jessica Gleeson but Lauren Dwyer is a doubt and Rianna Jarrett continues to make progress on her long-term injury.
"It's always hard to tell how you will do after the break but we will go up to DLR looking to produce a decent performance and hopefully do enough to get the three points," said Peter Doyle.
