Monaghan United kick-off the 2008 season with the visit of Limerick 37 to Century Homes Park this evening, kick-off 8pm.

Manager Mick Cooke is happy with how his charges fared in pre-season and is looking forward to getting the season started.

He said: 'The squad have worked really hard and have had some good results in the pre-season games. We are all eager to get off to a flying start and hope that we can get some early points in the bag against Limerick.'

Limerick boss Mike Kerley could include recent on-loan Galway United recruit Shane Tracy, but he is without centre-back Pat Purcell and striker Derek McCarthy.
