Late goals from Aaron Greene and Graham Burke clinched a triumphant win for Shamrock Rovers against their rivals, St Patrick’s Athletic, propelling the Hoops to an unprecedented fourth consecutive League of Ireland Premier Division title.

With this victory, Rovers advance to 68 points, establishing a six-point lead over the Saints. Given that the Inchicore side has only one game left in the season, they can no longer chase the Tallaght-based side.

With Derry City claiming a win in Cork, they have moved past Pats into second place. Nonetheless, both teams have solidified their positions for the upcoming season, securing places in the Europa Conference League.

For the teams battling for 4th place, attention now shifts to the Cup. If St Pats manage to triumph over Bohemians, the team that finishes fourth in the league will also secure a coveted European spot.

Currently leading the charge for that fourth-place finish is Shelbourne, who have moved to 57 points following a 3-2 victory against UCD, propelled by a hat-trick from Jack Moylan. Hot on their heels are Dundalk and Bohs, both with 55 points.

In what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the season, Shels are set to face off against Drogheda United in their final game. Meanwhile, Bohs will be heading to Turners Cross, and Dundalk will be taking on UCD.

The race for possible European qualification remains alive, albeit conditionally and all eyes will be on these final matches.
