Cardiff City has been active in the transfer market, announcing two signings.

Firstly, the Bluebirds secured the services of goalkeeper Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson on a season-long loan from Arsenal, pending clearance.

The 28-year-old, who started his career at KR Reykjavik, previously spent time on loan at Alanyaspor, under the watchful eye of current Cardiff boss, Erol Bulut.

Rúnarsson expressed excitement about his move, particularly looking forward to experiencing British football's fervent atmosphere at its best.

In a further boost to their squad, Cardiff City welcomed the addition of midfielder Manolis Siopis.

The Tychero-born player has penned a three-year contract.

Siopis brings with him a rich history of footballing experience from Greece, having played for Olympiacos, Platanias, Panionios, and Aris.

His venture to Turkey saw him make a mark with Alanyaspor, under Bulut, before a successful stint with Trabzonspor, where he clinched both the Süper Lig and Turkish Super Cup in 2022.

The seasoned midfielder also holds 23 international caps for Greece.

Speaking about his move, Siopis said, "I know Erol Bulut very well. I've always been about winning, and I see that same spirit here in Cardiff. I'm also familiar with Dimi [Goutas] and am eager to play alongside him and the rest of the team."

City's boss, Bulut, was effusive in his praise for Siopis, noting, “Securing a player of Manolis's calibre isn't easy. We have a strong bond from our Alanyaspor days. The fans will take an instant liking to him, not just for his tenacity but also his enhanced technical abilities in recent years."
