Sheffield Wednesday has officially announced the signing of the 19-year-old French winger, Djeidi Gassama, from Paris Saint Germain.

This acquisition marks the club's 10th signing during the summer transfer window.

Originating from PSG's youth system, Gassama made his professional debut in a match against Montpellier in May 2022, during which he played alongside football icons Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

His performance caught the attention of the international circuit, resulting in a call-up to France's Under-20 squad in September 2022.

Gassama's recent track record includes a loan period with KAS Eupen in Belgium. During his time there, he netted two goals in 19 games in the Pro League.

Upon completing his loan spell and after a brief return to Parc de Prances for the pre-season, Gassama transitioned permanently to Sheffield Wednesday.

The club's manager, Xisco, expressed enthusiasm about the new addition.

In his statement, Xisco recognized Gassama's potential, saying, “He’s a young guy and a good talent. He possesses high rhythm, speed, and a commendable finish — precisely what our team needs.”

Xisco further commented on the club’s support for Gassama's growth, stating, “We will support him in showcasing his potential. He's an asset for the future, and we will nurture him to enhance his skills further. I’m confident he will deliver exceptional results for our team.”
