Coventry City has confirmed the loan signing of 21-year-old Bologna defender, Luis Binks.

The former Tottenham Hotspur Academy player will join the Sky Blues until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Binks launched his professional career with Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer (MLS) in February 2020, following a strong performance in the youth ranks at Tottenham.

After featuring in 8 games for the Impact, Binks caught the eye of Bologna, securing a move to the Italian club in August 2020.

He continued to play for Montreal for the remainder of the 2020 season, adding a further 17 games to his tally.

Binks made his Serie A debut with Bologna in September 2021 and has since made 15 appearances for the club.

He also gained further experience during a 34-game loan spell with Serie B side Como in the 2022/23 season.

The Gillingham-born central defender has represented England up to the Under-19 level and has also received call-ups from Scotland's Under-16 and Under-18 squads.

Coventry City's Manager, Mark Robins, expressed his delight at the new acquisition, saying, “We’re very pleased to welcome Luis on loan until the end of the season. He is an accomplished defender, is versatile and also good on the ball. Luis has a good background and experience too, having played in a number of countries, and we look forward to working with him this season.”
