League of Ireland Attendances - Gameweek 7

I’ve been attending games this season. Having moved from the office on a Friday night to the press box I’ve learned a few key lessons that you forget sitting in a centrally heated room. The first thing is it’s been freezing cold for every game and the second is no matter how carefully I count the crowd at games the final attendance figure never seems to align with my attempts.

Gameweek 7 saw a total of 10,521 layer up and visit a League of Ireland ground. That said, three of our attendances are estimates. Derry City remain the only club not to issue official attendances so our estimate will have to do. We have had comment that the Candystripes have had more bums in seats than our estimates suggest but the only way we can know is with an official figure. Cabinteely and Bray Wanderers make up our other estimates.

Cork City topped the crowd figures this week with 2,793 which was a winner by some distance over the rest. The overall average was 1,052 for the league this week was the second lowest of the season so far.

The full breakdown of this week is as follows:

(We will update any estimates with official figures if we get them. Estimates are in red)
