League of Ireland Attendances - Gameweek 10

One statistic stands out ahead of all others this week. The game in Turner’s Cross between Cork City and Dundalk registered a sell-out crowd of 6,900. Many will claim there were even more present than the ground capacity but the records will show the figure above. However, that is not the statistic that emerges when you look at Gameweek 10’s numbers.
Ten games took place over the weekend and whilst Cork saw a bumper gate, the sum total of the other nine games (three of which are estimates) combine to tally up to 5,563. This means the Rebel Army crowd logged 1,337 punters more than the entire sum of the other nine attendances.
Seven of the ten totals failed to breach the 1,000 mark with St. Pats, Derry City and the aforementioned Cork surpassing it. The overall gameweek stats may show the week’s attendance as the 5th largest of the season but remove Cork City’s extraordinary attendance and the picture dramatically alters.
On the positive side, Finn Harps attendances over the course of the season has been a constant rise with 964 the highest so far this season.
