Wayne’s Biography
Wayne joined Bray Wanderers at the start of the 2005 season and made his senior debut for them in an away match in Ballybofey, against Finn Harps - a game which Bray Won 4-2. Byrne scored a debut goal from the penalty spot after he had been taken down by the Harps keeper, close to the end line.
Wayne then joined Shelbourne in February 2007 but his stay at Tolka Park was a short one and in July of that year, having made 7 appearances for the Reds, he moved on, signing for Mick Cooke at Monaghan United. Wayne left Monaghan a year later in July 2008.
Wayne went on to play for LSL side Dublin Bus and was part of the team that reached the 3rd round of the 2010 FAI Cup where they lost 2-0 'at home' to Shelbourne, though the match was played at Tolka Park. He then signed for Cherry Orchard and took part in the club's 2012 FAI Cup run which included a win over Longford Town in the second round. In 2013/14 Wayne played with Tolka Rovers.
