Ruaidhri’s Biography

Ruaidhri started his career at local side Newtown YFC before signing for Coventry City in 1998. He spent six years with the Sky Blues before being released in the summer of 2004.

Ruaidhri returned home and signed for Derry City, making his debut on 14 October 2004 in a home game against Drogheda United. He made 4 league appearances before the '04 season drew to a close and made 95 league appearances over the following five years.

At the end of the 2009 season Derry City were expelled from the league following revelations of financial irregularities and in January 2010, after a move to SPL side Aberdeen fell through, Ruaidhri moved south to sign for Pat Fenlon at the reigning league champions Bohemians. He made 22 league appearances over the 2010 season and scored two league goals. Ruaidhri also scored in the 7-1 demolition of Glenville in the FAI CUP third round.

At the end of 2010 Bohemians suffered their own financial issues and in January 2011 Ruaidhri returned to Derry who had just won promotion back to the Premier Division. He made 31 league appearances as Stephen Kenny's side finished third in the top tier. Ruaidhri added 28 league appearances in 2012, as well as winning an FAI Cup medal when Derry defeated St Patrick's Ath in the final at the Aviva Stadium.

In January 2014 Ruaidhri signed for his old Derry boss, Stephen Kenny, at Dundalk. He made twenty-three league appearances for Dundalk who won the league title on the last day of the season, beating Cork City 2-0 at Oriel Park. He re-signed with Dundalk for the following season but with the arrival of Ronan Finn, and Richie Towell staying despite being expected to move to England, Ruaidhri's contract was mutually rescinded and he moved north to sign for Coleraine on 19 January 2015.
