Karl’s Biography
Karl signed for Martin Russell at UCD in the summer of 2010 when he was released after four years at Manchester City. Karl had previously spent time on loan at Millwall where he made six first-team appearances during the 2008/09 season. Karl made his debut for the 'students' in a 4-1 defeat against Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght in July and went on to make 10 league appearances in 2010.
In February 2011 Karl moved to Galway United where he made 20 league appearances before leaving the club in July 2011 to sign for Michael O'Neill at Shamrock Rovers. Karl made his debut for the Hoops as a late substitute in the 1-0 away win over Bohemians on 5 August 2011 but had made only 3 league appearances by the end of the season.
In January 2012 Karl signed for Bohemians under new manager Aaron Callaghan. He played 26 times in the league for Bohemians, scoring two goals which both came against Shamrock Rovers in a 4-0 win, as they finished sixth. He then added another 29 appearances in the 2013 season as Bohemians finished tenth in the league. He re-signed for new manager Owen Heary and Bohs for the 2014 season and played 29 times in the league for the Gypsies, scoring twice, as Bohemians finished seventh in the table. In 2015 season, Karl's fourth season at Dalymount Park, he made 21 league appearances and scored once, in the 2-0 win over St Pats, as Bohs just missed out on Europe and finished fifth.
In November 2015, Karl confirmed that he had left Bohemians and later in December, Bray Wanderers announced the signing of the wide midfielder for the 2016 season. He went onto start 31 of Bray's 33 League games in 2016 and was retained by manager Harry Kenny for the 2017 campaign.
Karl then rejoined Bohs at the start of the 2018 season.
