Philip ’s Biography
Philip played with Sporting Fingal's A Championship side in 2010 and was close to signing for Mike Kerley at Athlone Town as late as the eve of the 2011 league season. However, he then signed for Mick Cooke at Drogheda United where he immediately established himself as a first team regular, making 35 league appearances and scoring 4 goals in his debut season.
Philip went on to make 20 more league appearances for Drogheda in 2012 as they finished second in the league and picked up their first trophy in five years by beating Shamrock Rovers 3-1 in the EA Sports Cup Final. The Drogs didn't manage to maintain their league form in 2013 (ending up in ninth place) but Philip still made 15 league appearances for Drogheda as well as being on the bench for three Cup finals - the EA Sports Cup, the Setanta Cup and the FAI Cup, all of which they lost.
Philip moved to First Division Shelbourne in November 2013 and scored on his debut against Wexford Youths on 7 March 2014. That was his only goal of the season but he played in 26 of Shelbourne's twenty-eight league games as well as both the club's promotion play-off matches against Galway FC.
Philip signed for Athlone Town for the 2015 season in January 2015. He made seven league appearances for Athlone before leaving the club in July 2015. He joined Killester United soon after.
