Rhys’s Biography
Rhys is a left sided defender who began his career at Barnsley in 2005 where he developed in the club academy and graduated to the reserves. Loan spells at Ossett Albion and Gretna preceded a permanent move to Stalybridge Celtic in August 2008.
He made 47 appearances for Stalybridge in the Conference before moving to Telford United at the end of the 08/09 season. His stay at Telford was brief, lasting just one training session, before he moved on to Chester City.
In February 2010 Rhys signed for Sean Connor at Galway United where he enjoyed an eventful year. He made 31 league appearances, scoring one goal, and took over in goal for a number of matches when regular 'keeper Barry Ryan was suspended.
At the end of the season Rhys returned to Stalybridge Celtic. He intended to return to Galway for the start of the 2011 season the paperwork was delayed and he remained in England.
