Emmet’s Biography

Emmet is a defender who started his career at Notts County in 2005. He made 14 league appearances and scored once for the clubs before being released in the summer of 2006.

At the start of the '06/07 season Emmet signed for non-league Tamworth but joined Hinckley Town on loan in December '06 where he made 4 league appearances over the remainder of the 06/07 season.

In May 2007 Emmet was released by Tamworth and returned to Ireland. In July 2007 he signed for Irish League club Newry City and went on to win the club's Player of the Year award for 07/08, and to captain the side in 08/09.

In January 2010, Emmet left Newry to sign for Stephen Kenny at Derry City an scored on his league debut in a 1-1 draw with Cork City on the opening day of the season. In that first season at the Brandywell Emmet made 27 league appearances and scored three times as Derry won the First Division title. But in 2011 he made just 8 league appearances, spending 22 games on the bench as an unused substitute.

On 3 January 2012 Emmet signed for Dungannon Swifts. On 1 May 2013 it was reported that Emmet had signed a two year contract with Portadown.
