Stephen’s Biography
Stephen is an Irish winger who plays for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Championship.
Stephen began his career playing Junior football with local Waterford side Carrick United before joining Crystal Palace in 1999. He made just 3 league appearances for the Eagles before moving to Brentford in 2001, where he made 136 league appearances over a four year spell.
He was on the move again in 2005 when he joined Championship side Reading, who he helped to promotion into the Premier League during his first season. He went on to make over 150 league appearances before leaving to join Hull City in August 2009.
Stephen spent just one season at Hull and signed for Mick McCarthy's Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2010. When Wolves finished bottom of the Premier League at the end of 2011/12, it marked Stephen's third relegation in four seasons.
Stephen made his senior international debut in a 2-1 win over San Marino on 7 February 2007. He has since gone on to win almost 40 caps.
