Alan ’s Biography

Alan played for St. Joseph's Boys before signing for Blackburn Rovers academy in 2006. He only made two appearances for the club, making his debut against Grimsby Town in the League Cup in August 2008, as he spent time away on loan to Plymouth Argyle and Notts County. The latter would make Alan's loan permanent in January 2011.

Over the course of three seasons with Notts County, Alan played a part in over one hundred league games whilst also winning the Fans' and Players' Player of the Year award in the 2011/12 season. In July 2013, Alan returned to Blackburn Rovers but only stayed a season before joining Brentford on loan in January 2014.

He scored seven goals in twenty-two league appearances for Brentford as they were promoted from League One and he made the move permanent in June 2014.

Alan has previously been called up to the Republic of Ireland senior squad but, ahead of the friendlies with Switzerland and Slovakia, is yet to be capped.
