Eugene’s Biography
Eugene is a goalkeeper who came through the ranks at Derry City. He has represented Northern Ireland at U16 and U18 level, while he has also been capped at U19 level for the Republic of Ireland.
In 2007 Eugene captained Derry's U20 side to the Enda McGuill Cup but he largely provided cover for first choice 'keeper Ger Doherty in his time at the Brandywell. He made 4 league appearances in 2010 but in 2011 and 2012 he put in 61 league appearances on the bench without getting to play and made just 6 EA Cup appearances in that time.
At the end of 2012 Eugene moved to Sunderland where he was brought in to help the Black Cats former Derry player, James McClean, settle in. He returned to Derry City colours in July 2013 and spent the rest of the season providing cover for first choice 'keeper Ger Doherty before leaving the club to sign for Irish League side Coleraine in December 2013.
