George’s Biography
George played for Cobh Ramblers in the 1980s and was part of the squad that reached the semi-finals of the 1982/83 FAI Cup, losing out to Sligo Rovers after three replays.
Although Ramblers were elected to the League of Ireland in 1985 George took a year's break from football that season, missing out on 1985/86, the club's first season in the LOI. He returned to Ramblers' colours the following season, making his league debut against Derry City at St Colman's Park on 19 October '86.
