John’s Biography
John was introduced to Home Farm's senior League of Ireland squad by manager, Dave Bacuzzi, in November of 1981 as an 18-year-old. He spent two seasons with the Tolka Park side before joining Bohemians in the summer of 1983.
Often used an impact sub, John played regularly for the Gypsies for six seasons before leaving Dalymount Park to sign for Sligo Rovers in the summer of 1990.
John spent three seasons with Sligo but left in the summer of 1993 to join St Patrick's Athletic where he played under Brian Kerr for two years.
