Sam’s Biography

Sam played for St Patrick's Athletic's u19s in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons and he was included in Liam Buckley's first team squad ahead of the 2014 Premier Division season. He made his debut, and only appearance of the season, in a 3-1 win over Bohemians in April 2014.

Sam made more progress in 2015, appearing in 9 league games as the Saints finished fourth in the Premier Division. He also won an EA Sports Cup winner's medal when Pats beat Galway United on penalties in the final. He was an unused substitute that day, and was also on the bench when Pats repeated the feat in 2016, beating Limerick 4-1 in the final at the Markets Field. 2016 also saw Sam's first league goal, scored in a 3-3 draw with Longford Town on 13 May, a week after he had made his European debut against Jeunesse Esch in the Europa League.

Sam left St Pats in July 2017 and just a few days later he signed for Neale Fenn at Longford Town.

In December 2018, Sam signed with Finn Harps for the 2019 season but after just one year at Finn Park he returned to Longford Town in December 2020. In 2023 Sam was set to captain the side under new manager Stephen Henderson but abruptly left the club after just one league game.
