Darren’s Biography

Having played underage football with Ardmore Rovers, Darren joined the youth set up at Charlton Athletic in London. He made his debut for the Londoners in the final game of the 2006/07 season against Liverpool and went on to make 14 league appearances in his six seasons at the Valley.

While at Charlton Darren had loan spells at Welling United, Accrington Stanley, Gillingham, Bury and Hereford United. At the end of the 2009/10 season Darren left Charlton and signed for Scottish side Motherwell where he made 111 league appearances in his three years at the club. His contract expired in May 2013 and he signed for Birmingham City on 1 July 2013.

Darren has been capped at international level for the Republic of Ireland and, ahead of the 2016 European Championship, he has 9 caps to his name. He was included in the Republic of Ireland's final squad for the 2016 European Championship.
