CABINTEELY
Cabinteely will be looking to build on their opening day win away to Wexford on Friday evening when they welcome Cork City to Stradbrook on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The South Dubliners impressed with Dean Casey and Kevin Knight both netting for Pat Devlin’s side last time out.
However, next up for Cabo is a home game against Cork City in a rematch of the side’s FAI Cup clash in 2019.
“We are looking forward to welcoming Cork to Stradbrook,” Devlin told his club’s media team.
“We played them a couple of years ago in the FAI Cup. That was a great game. We were unfortunate to lose on penalties that night.
“Cork are a great club with a great tradition. They are synonymous with League of Ireland football.
“They are a Premier Division club. Unfortunately for them, they are in the First Division.
“We will give them a game. Let us hope we can get the right result.”
Cabinteely’s sole absentee for Friday’s game is Peter Quinlan who remains out with a long-term knee injury.
CORK CITY
Cork City will be looking to build on their opening day league win over Cobh Ramblers on Friday evening when they visit Cabinteely at Stradbrook.
Cian Coleman and Cian Bargary were on target for City last time out to help Healy’s side clinch all three points.
But Healy was not entirely pleased with this sides showing at Turners Cross – and he is hoping that they can improve away to Cabo.
“Did we keep the ball as well as I would have liked against Cobh? Not really, I would like if we had kept possession a bit better, but lads are still finding their feet.
“Cobh put us under a lot of pressure as well. That’s something we have to work on and, the more games we play, I think that will happen.
“We have a fair idea what Cabinteely will throw at us. They’re a good side and we have to be ready for them.
Josh Honohan and Rob Slevin are ruled out for Cork City.
Referee: Alan Carey.
