KERRY
Kerry boss Conor McCarthy is hoping that his men can land their first home league win as a senior League of Ireland club when the Kingdom host Wexford (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The First Division side have caught the eye in recent weeks and even picked up a point on the road away to Finn Harps last time out.
But they are still likely to be without Jack Kavanagh, Valerii Dolia and Nathan Gleeson on Friday evening.
“Wexford are going to be very strong this season, I think they will be eying up the title and not backing down for anyone,” McCarthy said.
“It will be a tough game, the management team is good and organised and are very structured in what they do.
“A hard team to break down but in saying that they were involved in a bit of a goal fest last week but they still came out on the right side of it.
“A tough side, a tough game but we are ready and looking forward to it.”
WEXFORD
Fresh from a thrilling win over Bray Wanderers last weekend, Wexford will be looking for another victory when they visit Mounthawk Park.
But they will be without on-loan St Patrick’s Athletic youngster Sean McHale who suffered a ligament injury.
“It was important to win against Bray but we know ourselves we are miles away from where we want to be,” boss James Keddy told his club’s media team. “Consistency and self belief are key factors in achieving success this season.
There is a long way to go in the league and it will only settle down after two rounds of games.
“There is one thing for sure, there will be lots of ups and downs along the way.”
Referee: Chris Sheehan.
