KERRY
Basement side Kerry will be looking to move off the bottom spot when they host playoff chasers Finn Harps on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The Kingdom have endured a wretched winless league run since defeating Longford Town in June and are now a point behind the Red and Black in the table.
But boss Conor McCarthy is not losing faith – even if they are coming into the game off the back of a 4-1 loss to a Munster FA representative side on Monday.
‘For us, it’s trying to get the best team on the pitch to win the game,” McCarthy said.
“Sometimes, certain games require different personnel and each game has its own story.
“We’ve looked at Finn Harps and there is no doubt they are a very good side. Very good physically, a direct team and there is no denying their quality in the middle of the pitch.
“Our team will be picked on what we think is best for us to get 3 points.”
FINN HARPS
Finn Harps have four ‘huge’ games left according to their manager Darren Murphy.
The Co Donegal side have catapulted themselves back into playoff contention recently and picked up a draw against Cork City last weekend at Turner’s Cross.
But they did lead 2-0 on Leeside before City responded with a second-half surge to avoid defeat.
“I’m a glass-half-full guy anyway. I’m not a negative guy. I don’t really talk about the negative things even in the defeats,” Murphy told Donegal Live last week.
“I always looked for the positives and always believed in the group. I thought the group could turn it around when everybody else was writing us off so quickly.
“We’ve been able to do that over the last four games and we’ve now got four massive games left.”
Referee: Robert Dowling.
