DROGHEDA UNITED
Drogheda United welcome UCD to Weavers Park on Friday evening – a week after defeating Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium.
The Drogs won the last meeting between the two at the UCD Bowl earlier this year, with Emmanuel Adegboyega’s heading home a winner.
But since then Kevin Doherty’s men have picked up some more impressive results – none more so than last weekend’s win over Shamrock Rovers.
Freddie Draper and Dayle Rooney netted for United to put them 2-0 up after a sensational showing.
Rory Gaffney netted late on but it was too late to deny the Boynesiders a famous win in Dublin 24.
Drogheda are set to again be without the injured Evan Weir, Darragh Noone, Jarlath Jones and Emre Topcu while Elicha Ahui is closing in on a return to action.
Gary Deegan is unavailable due to suspension while Michael Leddy is again available after missing the game last week due to the terms of his loan from Shamrock Rovers.
UCD
Struggling UCD will be hunting for a scalp on the road this weekend when they take on Drogheda United.
The Students come into the game off the back of a disappointing 4-1 loss against Derry City last time out at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.
Andy Myler’s side have lost their last four games in a row – picking up just one point since their shock 1-0 win at home to Cork City on April 14th.
But they can take solace that Drogheda will be without duo Gary Deegan and Evan Weir for the clash on Friday at the Windmill Road venue.
UCD have not issued team at time of writing.
Referee: Kevin O’Sullivan.
