WEXFORD
The Slaneysiders will hope to go four games unbeaten at Ferrycarrig Park this Friday as they take on table-toppers Galway United (kick-off is at 7:45pm).
It will be a tricky task to overcome such a strong team, with a sizeable 27-point gap between the two sides in the table, but Wexford will certainly be confident after a vital 2-1 win over Cobh Ramblers, a 6-0 victory over Kerry and a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Treaty, all within the last two weeks.
Darragh Levingston’s wondergoal at Markets Field on Monday saw him included in the league’s Team of the Week, and the squad will hope to put on a similar gutsy performance in the last fixture before the summer break.
Wexford currently sit in sixth position in the table, three points below Bray heading into this game-week, and just two ahead of Treaty.
The sides met last month at Eamon Deacy Park where Galway claimed a 2-0 victory, with the last clash at Ferrycarrig ending in a 4-0 away win for The Tribesmen.
In team news, Mark Hanratty may not feature after sustaining an injury against Kerry last week, however Jordan Tallon may be available after being forced off with a knock against Treaty on Monday.
Evan Farrell was included in Monday’s matchday squad after a long absence, with Aaron Robinson potentially seeking a return soon after the break.
GALWAY UNITED
John Caulfield’s side will be hoping for another big win after claiming a 6-0 victory over Finn Harps at home on Bank Holiday Monday.
Goals from Darren Clarke, Killian Brouder, Stephen Walsh, Maurice Nugent, Rob Manley and David Hurley made it nine wins from all nine home games this season.
They could only salvage a point away to Bray three days beforehand, but this was the only draw they have picked up all season and are now ten points ahead of rivals Waterford in the league.
In team news, Colm Horgan may feature after being an unused substitute on Monday following an absence, meanwhile Conor O’Keeffe may still be side-lined after sustaining a head injury last week.
Referee: Chris Sheehan.
