WEXFORD
James Keddy’s Wexford take on league leaders Galway United at Ferrycarrig Park on Friday night as they look to catapult themselves into a play-off place.
Keddy’s side have flattered to deceive so far this term and were held in their most recent home game by Treaty United.
Youngster Darragh Levingston netted a fine goal after some good work from James Crawford but it was an unconvincing showing from the hosts.
However, their cause has been stalled significantly by a crippling injury list so far this season.
Already, Thomas Considine, Aaron Robinson, Conor Levingston, Kian Corbally, Brandon McCann, Reece Webb and Evan Farrell have picked up injuries.
However, it does appear likely that Farrell may return shortly as he closes in on full fitness.
But a win here against the Tribesmen would give them the shot in the arm that their season needs – even at this early stage.
GALWAY UNITED
Top of the pile, John Caulfield’s side are shining at the top of the table after a scintillating start to the campaign.
The Tribesmen boast a 100%-win record and have already claimed victories against Waterford, Longford Town and Treaty United so far.
But their win last weekend away to Athlone Town saw them come from a goal behind to record an emphatic 3-1 success.
And that win will give them confidence heading into Friday’s trip to the South-East.
“We always know going to Wexford it’s a difficult game, but at the same time we are on a very good run ourselves and we’re hoping to maintain that,” Caulfield said this week.
“We have had great numbers at the away games, it’s great because the players really appreciate the fans being at the matches.”
Referee: Alan Patchell.
