WATERFORD
The Blues will hope to get back to winning ways when they welcome Finn Harps to the RSC on Friday night (kick-off 7:45pm).
Last week saw them suffer a narrow 1-0 defeat to Cobh Ramblers in St. Colman’s Park after a second-half Wilson Waweru strike secured the three points for the Cork side.
The visitors come into this game sitting eighth in the table, 21 points behind the Blues in second place, and could climb into seventh if Treaty United do not get a result against Athlone Town.
Speaking ahead of the fixture, Blues boss Keith Long said:
“We are looking to bounce back from last week’s disappointing performance away to Cobh.
"It was a performance that lacked any sort of purpose, and we got what we deserved from the game with a lacklustre out of character type of display.
“We fell short of the standards we have set for ourselves, and we will be doing everything to correct that and bounce back with a good team performance.”
FINN HARPS
It will be a long trip from Donegal for Dave Rogers’ men after suffering a 1-0 home defeat to Wexford last weekend at Finn Park.
Harps have picked up two wins in their last five games, with their last meeting at the RSC ending in a 7-1 victory for Waterford in March.
The sides last met in May when Waterford earned a comfortable 4-0 win in Ballybofey. Goals from Connor Parsons, Dean McMenamy and a Ronan Coughlan brace secured the three points for Keith Long’s side.
Despite a difficult first half of the season, the club announced three signings during the week – midfielders Dan Stokoe and Max Hutchinson, and defender Jamie Watson, who are all available for selection from 1 July.
