GALWAY UNITED
Galway United will be looking to take one step closer to the First Division title when they host Cobh Ramblers at Eamonn Deacy Park (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The Tribesmen are 16 points clear of closest challengers Waterford and could wrap the league title up in a number of weeks.
And they have also been boosted with a stunning 5-1 win over UCD in the FAI Cup on Monday night.
But that win may have come at a cost with boss John Caulfield reporting a number of knocks from their success in Dublin 4.
Francely Lomboto and Vincent Borden are reported to have picked up knocks – while Colm Horgan is out injured.
Conor McCormack is also a doubt but should recover in time to feature against the Rams.
COBH RAMBLERS
Munster Senior Cup champions Cobh Ramblers will be looking to build on their recent cup success when they visit Galway this weekend.
Ramblers won 3-1 against local rivals Cork City at Turner’s Cross, with Shane Keegan’s side piling more misery on the Leesiders.
Dale Holland and Jake Hegarty both scored to put Cobh in command before Tunde Owolabi halved the deficit in the second-half.
But 19-year-old Adrien Thibaut scored soon after to secure Cobh’s second Munster Senior Cup in a row.
And they will be confident that they can replicate that level of performance against the Tribesmen in their bid to copper-fasten their play-off berth.
Referee: Gavin Colfer.
