GALWAY UNITED
A bumper-crowd at Eamonn Deacy Park will play host to Galway United’s First Division clash against Cobh Ramblers on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The Tribesmen have been the pacesetters so far in the second-tier, winning all of their 10 league games.
But their closest challengers Waterford are beginning to motor on in a forward direction and that means Galway must continue to push on at the top of the table.
And with over 3,500 fans expected to attend Friday’s game against Cobh, boss John Caulfield is hoping that his side can rise to their latest challenge.
“It will be our biggest crowd of the season,” he said.
“We know Shane Keegan will have Cobh well drilled for the match and tactically prepared.
“We are on a great run and we’re looking to keep it going.”
COBH RAMBLERS
Play-off chasing Cobh Ramblers will attempt to become the first team to take points off Galway United when they visit Eamonn Deacy Park on Friday night.
Ramblers lost the most recent meeting between the two earlier this season but they have impressed for the most part this term.
Wins at home to Bray Wanderers and Wexford have set them up nicely, although their most recent draw against Treaty has halted their momentum.
Ramblers will be without Charlie Lyons who serves a one game suspension after picking up five yellow cards.
Wilson Waweru is unavailable given the terms of his loan deal from Galway, while Cian Browne remains injured and Pierce Phillips and Michael McCarthy are doubts.
Referee: Gavin Colfer.
