DROGHEDA UNITED
Drogs will be looking to bounce back from last week’s late defeat to St Pats when league leaders Finn Harps come to town on Saturday night (KO 6pm).
Their performance in the last quarter of the game against Pats looked to be enough to share the spoils before Billy King struck in the 90th minute to take all three points. Tim Clancy’s side won their opening home game 1-0 against Waterford so continuing home momentum will be important.
Dinny Corcoran will be hoping for a starting spot after changing the game from the bench last weekend.
Tim Clancy was full of praise for Harps ahead of the game: “Harps have had a great start to the season, with a brilliant home win against Bohs and an amazing win out in Oriel there last time so we know it’s going to be a difficult game.”
Mark Hughes remains sidelined as he continues to recover from injury.
FINN HARPS
Harps head East top of the league with six points from six but Ollie Horgan isn’t getting carried away. Horgan’s charges return to the wee county a week after a sensational 2-1 win over Dundalk at Oriel Park.
Harps have a number of injury doubts in the form of Ryan Connolly, Conor Barry, top goalscorer Adam Foley and Mark Timlin ahead of their trip to Head in the Game Park tomorrow evening.
Ollie Horgan speaking ahead of the game had this to say: “The game against Drogheda was always going to be massive because of how close the two teams were even in separate divisions regardless of how the opening games went.”
Referee: Adriano Reale
Match Stats
The last time the sides met was in a dramatic playoff leg at Finn Park. Harps preserved their Premier Division status in extra time through Harry Ascroft’s 116th minute goal.
