CABINTEELY
Cabinteely will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend as they welcome Treaty United to Stradbrook on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The Green and White’s were defeated by three goals to nil last time out by Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds.
That was their second 3-0 defeat there on the spin – having lost at the venue by the same scoreline last season.
But Cabo’s backroom are looking forward to putting that one right on Friday evening as they host Treaty United.
“We’re looking forward to it,” Paul Heffernan said. “It is going to be a tough game.
“They have only lost once so far and are extremely hard to beat.
“Our home form has been good so far and we have back-to-back home matches against Treaty and Wexford.
“We will be looking to get as many points as we can from those two fixtures.”
Club record appearance holder Kevin Knight completes the last match of a ban.
Defender Andy O’Brien and goalkeeper Peter Quinlan are out injured.
TREATY UNITED
Treaty United will be looking to build on their home league win over Athlone Town this weekend as they travel to the capital to take on Cabinteely.
This will be their first ever visit to Stradbrook, although many of their players will be familiar with the venue having played there in 2019 on two occasion for Limerick FC.
And despite their good start to the season, Treaty boss Tommy Barrett is looking forward to the challenge on Friday night in South Dublin.
“Every game is different, and if you look at our games, we beat Cork and Wexford, and Wexford was probably our most fortunate to win,” he told Sporting Limerick.
“Anything can happen on the night, and if you’re not on it, you’re in trouble. I know this gets boring but any team can get a result – and we saw that last week.
“Cabinteely can beat anyone, as can we but its about whoever works harder on the night.”
Referee: David Dunne.
MATCH STATS
This will be the first time both teams have played each other – although Cabinteely’s last game against a Limerick based side saw them run out 3-0 winners.
