TREATY UNITED
Treaty had a bye week last weekend and finally get to play their first home game of the season when Munster rivals make the trip to Markets Field on Wednesday night (kick-off 7.45pm).
United faced Women’s National League Champions Peamount United in their opening game of the season and were defeated 5-0.
The Peamount squad is stacked with Republic of Ireland internationals and they are tipped by many to win the WNL again this season so Treaty will feel no shame from losing to them in their first game.
This will be the club’s first Munster Derby and with both club’s still looking for their first points Treaty will have nothing to fear coming in to Wednesday night’s game.
CORK CITY
The Rebels have had the most challenging opening fixtures to kick-off their season having faced Shelbourne in their opening game of the season and then current WNL Champions Peamount United last Sunday.
Peamount ran out 3-0 winners at Bishopstown Stadium on Sunday with goals coming from Stephanie Roche, Aine O’Gorman and Eleanor Ryan Doyle.
City will be hopeful that they can pick up their first points against the newcomers, Treaty United, but with such a quick turnaround from their last game they could be at a disadvantage.
