DLR WAVES
DLR Waves welcome Athlone Town to the UCD Bowl for the first time for their final home game of the campaign (kick-off 2pm, live stream here).
Graham Kelly’s side will look to sign off with their first home win of the season against the only team they’ve beaten so far.
A win of any sort would lift the club above Treaty United and into sixth position on goal difference, with the Limerick side tied up with FAI Cup duty this weekend.
It’s been a long wait for Waves to return to competitive action, having not played since October 17th, before the international break.
On that occasion, Waves were held to a scoreless draw by Bohemians in the first WNL game to take place at Dalymount Park, the second 0-0 draw between the sides this year.
ATHLONE TOWN
Athlone will also be eyeing a move up the table as a win would be enough to take them above Waves into seventh.
A two-goal win would even take them above Treaty into sixth position, albeit with a game more played than the Limerick side.
Like Waves, it’s been three weeks since Athlone are in action, when they faced Treaty United at the Market’s Field.
Goals from Kellie Brennan, Kayla Brady and Katelyn Keogh saw Athlone to victory despite twice being pegged back by the hosts.
Referee: Daniel Murphy
MATCH STATS
The sides have met once before this season – the first time they’ve ever met at senior level.
