UCD
UCD will be hoping to bounce back from Friday night’s defeat to Bray Wanderers when they welcome bottom of the table Athlone to the UCD Bowl on Monday night. (KO 7:45PM).
A brace from Seagull’s front man Darragh Lynch meant that UCD succumbed to their second defeat of the season.
Students boss Andy Myler is experiencing his first season in the Belfield hot seat with a number of new players, meaning that a defeat here and there isn’t likely to anger the UCD hierarchy, who are used to giving managers time to produce quality players and results.
After Monday’s game the Students will begin work on their next assignment – a trip to Stradbrook to take on top of the table Cabinteely this Friday.
At the time of writing UCD had not released any team news.
ATHLONE TOWN
Athlone will be looking to build on Friday’s 3-3 draw with Drogheda when they travel to Dublin.
Goals from Ronan Manning and Lee Duffy put Adrian Carberry’s men in the lead twice, but a late fightback from Tim Clancy’s side meant that the Middlanders were forced to settle for a draw.
Although Carberry’s side are winless so far this term, Friday night’s draw wasn’t their first point of the campaign.
In their second game post-lockdown the Town earned a 2-2 draw against Galway at Eamonn Deacy Park.
After Monday’s game Carberry will get his team ready for the visit of Shamrock Rovers II on Friday.
At the time of writing Athlone Town hadn’t released any team news,
