Limerick began life under Tommy Barrett with a 1-0 victory over Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds on Saturday night.
Sligo handed debuts to the likes of Adam Morgan and Eduardo Pincelli while Barrett handed starts to former Sligo man Danny Kearns and Mark O’Sullivan.
However, it was another debutant who stole the headlines as shortly after the hour mark Darren Dennehy ghosted into the Bit O’Red penalty area to head past Micheal Schlingermann and land three points for Limerick in what was a tight affair.
Sligo will be looking to bounce back this Friday as they host Derry City who will also be searching for their first victory, while Limerick will be looking to maintain their positive start as they welcome Bohemians to Markets Field.
