WEXFORD
Wexford's final home game of the season sees them welcome Cobh Ramblers to Ferrycarrig Park (kick-off 8pm).
Wexford go into this game certain to end their 2018 campaign in ninth place in this year’s First Division.
They are thirteen points adrift of tonight’s opponents Cobh in eighth and are seven clear of Athlone Town with just two games remaining.
The men from the south east can still conclude their season with a better points tally than last year.
However they need to take seven points from their remaining three games to finish on 20 for the season (one more than last year’s 19-point tally).
The odds on this happening will be greatly improved if their top scorer Aaron Dobbs can pass a late fitness test having come off early in their last league outing against Shelbourne.
Ryan Nolan is a definite absentee with a groin injury.
COBH RAMBLERS
Cobh Ramblers have struggled to hit the dizzy heights their league form brought them last season when they finished second in the one season that the play-offs were scrapped.
They do have an EA Sports Cup Final to look forward to having secured a memorable victory against a strong Dundalk side in the semi-finals with a final against Derry City their reward.
From a league point of view, there is no comparison between this season and last. The Ram’s finished with a total of 51 points last season, just eight points behind this seasons Premier Division high flyers Waterford.
This season with just three league games remaining for the 2018 season, they have managed just 26 points.
They're 21 points adrift of the second place spot they occupied last season when the football was done and dusted.
Stephen Henderson has a number of injury concerns ahead of tonight’s fixture with Shane O’Connor, Chris Hull and Stephen Kenny all struggling for fitness.
Referee: Alan Patchell.
MATCH FACTS
The last meeting between these sides was in the league back on the ninth of June with Cobh taking all three points at home with a 2-1 win.
13 points separate the sides in advance of tonight’s fixture with Cobh sitting just ahead of Wexford in eighth.
