LONGFORD TOWN
Longford Town manager Neale Fenn has been a busy man during the off-season bringing in no less than fifteen new players ahead of the new campaign.
There have also been a number of significant departures including the clubs leading all time goal scorer David O’Sullivan who moved to Shelbourne during the off-season.
The new arrivals include recent Premier Division winner Darren Meenan, striker Chris Mulhall, Jamie Hollywood and a welcome return for wing wizard Dylan McGlade.
Both of these sides will have ambitions for promotion this season and Fenn will be hoping for a better return of points from this fixture compared to last season.
Both teams played each other four times last season with Cobh coming out on top on three occasions, a trend that Longford will be hoping to buck on Saturday evening.
Longford have reported no injury concerns ahead of the game.
COBH RAMBLERS
Stephen Henderson is heading into the new season with a youthful side to manage but is positive as always looking ahead towards the coming months.
Adam O Sullivan, Jack Lynch, Pierce Phillips and Denzil Fernandes are a few of the new arrivals to the club for the new season and Henderson’s is aiming for a top four finish and a chance at the playoffs.
Cobh had a fine season last year finishing in 2nd place but the usual playoff structure was scrapped for one season to allow both divisions to start as ten team leagues this season and so missed out on a possible play off.
Cobh have reported no injuries before the fixture on Saturday evening.
