GALWAY UNITED
Until their 2-0 Monday night loss to Shamrock Rovers the Tribesmen had been unbeaten in the League of Ireland Premier Division for seven games.
In their last time out in Eamonn Deacy Park, United defeated Finn Harps 2-1 with an injury time winner coming from the head of Vinny Faherty and manager Shane Keegan is looking for back to back home wins this Friday night.
"Our home form has been decent so far, it would be great to get back-to-back home wins before the mid-season break. We are capable of delivering it.
"The role that our support has played in every game so far has been fantastic, they've seen a lot of late goals and I would argue that the fact that they support us right through and get behind us has played a role, it keeps the lads going having the crowd behind them,” Keegan told the club’s website.
"The mindset heading into the break is you would like to find yourself outside of the bottom three, so you're heading away with positive thoughts. That's our aim. If we can pick up results in those two games against Bohemians and Derry City, we are probably looking at being in 7th or 8th position. It's so tight."
Ronan Murray is available for selection once again after missing Galway’s trip to Shamrock Rovers last Monday due to being suspended. Vinny Faherty, David Cawley and Marc Ludden are all carrying injuries going into the game against Bohemians. The trio missed the game in Tallaght but will be assessed before the game on Friday night.
BOHEMIANS
Keith Long’s men travel to Eamonn Deacy Park on Friday night after losing to Limerick in Dalymount Park on Tuesday night.
The Gypsies find themselves in seventh place in the Premier Division but with how tight it is in the bottom half of the table they are just two points ahead of their next opponents.
Bohemians captain Derek Pender was withdrawn from the squad just before their game with Limerick during the week and the Phibsborough side will be without his services for Friday’s game.
Paddy Kavanagh picked up a rib injury in their mid-week game and he too will miss this game. Eoin Wearan and Ishmahil Akinade remain sidelined while Dylan Hayes is suspended after being sent off against Limerick.
Referee: Ben Connolly
MATCH STATS
Friday night’s game will be the 82nd meeting between Bohemians and Galway United in all competitions.
