ATHLONE TOWN
Athlone Town welcome Cabinteely to Lissywollen on Friday night (kick-off 7.45pm) without a win in their last eight games.
Last week saw Roddy Collins' side fall to a 3-1 defeat at home to Shelbourne, going three down to goals from Adam Evans, Adam O'Connor and James English before Colm Coss scored a late consolation.
The defeat means Athlone have taken just two points out of a possible 24 – by far the worst performance in the division over that time.
Athlone have failed to provide any team news.
CABINTEELY
Cabinteely ended a three-game losing streak last week as they ran out impressive 2-1 winners over title-chasing Cobh Ramblers at Stradbrook Park.
Marty Waters gave Cabo the lead within the first minute and it was a lead they never surrendered, Paul Fox adding a second after the break before Cian Coleman pulled one back.
While Cabo currently sit in sixth, one place ahead of Athlone, they could rise as high as fourth with victory depending on how Shelbourne and Longford Town fare elsewhere.
They're currently nine points ahead of Athlone and victory on Friday night will all but guarantee they improve on last season's seventh-place finish to post their best-ever placing.
