HOLDERS Raheny United host bottom of the table Cork City Women’s FC at Santry Stadium for their first home game since the middle of October.
“We picked up a good away point last week. It’s important to take points off your challengers.,” admitted United boss Casey McQuillian after Raheny’s 1-1 draw with UCD Waves.
“City have ability to hurt us – they’ve shown this season what they can do but I think we have enough in our arsenal to get the three points.
“We’re not going to be complacent. That’s the most important thing. Castlebar showed against Waves, if you’re complacent in this league you can be punished.”
Rebecca Creagh is available for the champions having returned from suspension.
“We’re all a little disappointed about the result in Galway last weekend,” admitted City boss Charlie Lynch, having gone down 5-0 to the Galwegians.
“I know the players have the character to overcome these trying times and we will give 100 per cent against a tough opponent in Raheny.
“We should be welcoming a few players back from injury or unavailability this weekend and that will hopefully be a welcome boost to the side ahead of the trip to Morton Stadium.”
On the injury front, Katie McCarthy is improving and could feature for City, while Chloe Ahern and Fiona Considine should be back in the squad after long-term injuries.
Stacey Paul and Eleanor Lucey are both available for the trip to Dublin having missed the game against Galway due to work commitments.
Natalie Coughlan picked up a calf injury in the weekend game and is rated as doubtful while Laura Medbury is doubtful and Nathalie O’Brien is unavailable with a broken leg.
