THE new-look Peamount United host Cork City Women’s FC in their first home game of the season and will be keen to build on that positive start after their victory in Galway WFC first time out.
Peas boss Robbie Mulligan welcomes back five players who were in action with Ireland’s Women’s U19 side in Sweden this week.
“We’re looking forward to it after a week or two off. The girls are excited to be getting back in action. We had five on international duty with the U19s,” said Mulligan.
“Cork have shown they are an improved side and will become a stronger side in time. We’re no illusions that it’ll be a tough enough test in our first home game of the season.”
The visitors have signed Vanessa Ogbonna from Tramore AFC but Natalie O’Brien is out with a broken ankle. Natalie Coughlan, Eleanor Lucey and Chloe Ahern are also injured.
“Peamount have added some experience to their young players. We won’t expect anything easy and will go up there knowing the challenge will be as tough as always,” said Cork’s Chris O’Mahony.
