PEAMOUNT United travel to Wexford knowing that last week’s draw with champions Raheny United has significantly hampered their chances of regaining the title.
Eileen Gleeson’s side cannot afford anything less than three points on Sunday but they are well aware that the Model County side are buoyant after beating Castlebar Celtic last week and have most of their key players now back after injury.
Wexford have a slight doubt over Lauren Dwyer while Lucy Sherwin is out but Rianna Jarrett is hoping to play some part in the game after a year out through injury.
“We’re looking forward to the visit of Peamount. Last week’s result was excellent. It was arguably the best performance of the season and our best situation in terms of injuries. We are looking to get that third slot so it’s a big opportunity,” said Wexford’s Peter Doyle.
Peamount boss Eileen Gleeson wants her side to get back on the winning track. “It was frustrating last week not getting the result we wanted. We can only concentrate on the next game. Wexford are always tough and caught us in the cup when we were certainly off form.
“We’ll treat it seriously. The girls were extremely disappointed after last Sunday but we can’t dwell on it. We’ve got four games left to try and win and do our job then see what happens elsewhere.”
