WEXFORD Youths host DLR Waves looking to grab the three points that would seal third spot and are another side with the Bus Éireann Women’s National League Cup Final to consider.
Kylie Murphy and Edel Kennedy are doubts for Wexford while Jenny Clifford and Lucy Sherwin continue on the long term absentee list.
“This is an important game for us as we want to clinch third spot, which is in our own hands. DLR are always tough so we can’t take anything for granted and even though we have the League Cup Final to look forward to, we won’t be thinking about that,” said Wexford’s Peter Doyle.
DLR boss Larry Mahony has to plan with Sharon Cullen (facial injury) and while he is pleased with the defensive strength his side is now displaying, he is ultimately disappointed to have missed out on third spot.
“Everybody wants to finish on a high. We gave ourselves a target of finishing third if we could so we’re a little disappointed with that but three clean sheets in a row has been very pleasing. That’s the first time we’ve done that,” said Mahony.
