Wexford Youths Women's AFC host Cork Women's FC in their final game before Christmas at home on Sunday with Jessica Gleeson and Rianna Jarrett continuing to miss out through injury while Jenny Clifford and Laura Heffernan will face fitness tests before a final decision is made.

 

"Despite the tough injury crisis that has hit the club, we're happy with the first half of the season and feel that if some of the more senior players can return in the New Year the team can still make a serious push for at least third place," said Wexford's Peter Doyle.

 

Cork continue with Eimear Knightly, Michelle Browne, Linda McNamara and Chloe Ahern while Angie Carry is back from suspension and Eleanor Lucey has been signed from Ballincollig.

 

"We're showing show signings of improvement but the standard is very high. Every team is making progress so all we can do is continue to work as hard as possible and try get a result," said Cork's Chris O'Mahony.
