RAHENY United took a giant leap towards retaining their title with a scoreless draw at Peamount United last week but the champions can ill-afford to take their eye off the ball at home to Galway WFC.
Clare Shine is out of contention for Raheny. Galway are at full strength.
“My first game as coach of this side was against Galway and we only beat them in the 93rd minute and equalised in the 91st minute. They’re a decent team,” said United boss Casey McQuillan.
“Last week we finished strongly but a draw was fair. We have to keep their minds off the idea of winning the league and just take things game by game without focusing on anything else.”
Galway were disappointed with their loss to Shamrock Rovers last week so will look to bounce back.
“It was difficult last week but the girls probably took their eye off the ball. It was our own fault. We’ve nothing to lose. We possibly should have beaten them at home but we didn’t do enough for the 90 minutes and that cost us,” said Galway boss Nigel Keady.
